KBFS is seeking a part-time Drop Zone Control Officer to support efforts in Crestview, FL.
Description:
KBFS Crestview supports U.S. Department of Defense in various training venues. Through our air advisor operations training, we have a requirement for part-time Drop Zone Control Officer (DZCO) support. This position reports directly to the contract Program Manager. Training is normally conducted from Monday-Friday. Weather cancellations may alter that schedule. Job requires presentation of a neat and well-groomed appearance, effective oral and written communications skills. The ability to demonstrate aircraft skills and expertise to meet all technical support requirements with professionalism.
Required Skills:
- The DZCO contractor should have completed a Drop Zone Control Officer (DZCO) or equivalent (USA Pathfinder Course) qualification course in the last 10 years.
- Contractor shall be proficient in evaluating and establishing a drop zone in accordance with the approved DZ survey.
- Contractor shall be proficient in communicating weather information and DZ conditions in real time.
- Contractor shall be proficient in evaluating safety factors to include ground operations and the operation of aircraft in proximity to the drop zone.
- Airdrop Load Inspection Certification (ALIC) and direct experience with Special Operations and/or C-208 airdrop operations are highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years military experience.
