JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the incoming audit of raw materials, components and sub-assemblies required for finished products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the audits of raw materials and components.
Must read and interpret blueprints (including geometric tolerance where used), quality procedures/specifications and change notices.
Performs sampling in accordance with statistical sampling plans.
Maintains control of quarantined, rejected goods areas regarding material acceptance and quality status as per FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards.
Performs functional, physical, visual and dimensional evaluations using equipment such as the optical comparator, micro view, micrometer and others.
Properly documents the results of incoming material audits and ensures all required tests and evaluations are performed. Attention to Detail skills are needed in review of specifications and documents in general.
Responsible for the physical identification of materials to their status.
Makes recommendations regarding acceptance or rejection of incoming material lots.
Performs clerical duties and other assignments as requested by Immediate Supervisor.
Responsible to stop further processing in the event of encountering non-conforming product conditions.
Reviews certification of compliance against all but specifications, prints and other specifications.
Assists with First Article inspections when required.
Responsible to initiate Supplier Action Request (SCAR) of material not complying with the acceptance criteria.
Responsible to assure the accuracy of procedures and forms used.
Other related duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High School or GED
Preferable at least one (1) year of experience in performing incoming inspections.
Preferable a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Medical Devices or Pharmaceutical industries.
Basic knowledge of English language to understand written procedures and specifications.
Manual dexterity.
Demonstrate an excellent degree of attendance, punctuality, responsibility and good communication skills.
