IT Technician
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Shift: 1st shift/day shift
Pay: $25-$30/hour
This is a 60-90 day contract role
Job Overview:
Under the direction of the IT Section Manager is responsible to provide a system that allows timely and accurate information processing. Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable operating systems, and appropriate software. This position is also responsible for daily, internal, end user technical support and for design and implementation of new systems development including new applications, conversions and significant enhancements.
Job Duties:
- Analyzes system design problems and develop solutions.
- Develop training materials and procedures and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software
- Conduct regularly scheduled systems tests.
- Works in conjunction with others in the organization to define specific system requirements. Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvement or upgrades.
- Provide expert technical support multiple systems and applications throughout the company. Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors
- Answers and supports end users questions and problems. Uses remote assistance software to install applications and drivers.
- Manages the ordering, inventory set-up, support and tracking of equipment, software, accessories. Assists with imaging of new and repurposed computers and with equipment disposal efforts.
- Complete other duties, tasks or projects at the direction of the immediate supervisor.
Experience Required:
- Knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, Office 365, Laptops, desktops, Servers and Printers
- Ability to work with little supervision and multi-task
- Good communication – verbal and written
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and provide support for floor and office staff for PCs, Laptops and Printers
- Ability to install Windows 10 and 11, MS Office and other commonly used applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing Experience
- 1 year of Help Desk, Phone Support or Customer Service experience or a commensurate combination of education and experience
- Must be able to work with executives and support all user needs
- Experience with troubleshoot network connectivity in Lan/Wan environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or an Associate’s Degree with additional experience.
