SQF Compliance Specialist

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in Food Quality, Safety, or Regulatory roles, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Organic, Gluten-Free, Kosher, Halal, and Non-GMO programs highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of audit compliance and requirements, including experience with SQF and third-party certifications.
• Certifications such as SQF Practitioner, HACCP, and PCQI are preferred.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish.
• Proactive, self-motivated thinker with strong business acumen.

Responsibilities:

• Manage SQF document control and provide supporting documentation for third-party audits.
• Support third-party certifications, including Kosher, Organic, and Gluten-Free programs.
• Conduct and document internal audits to address food safety or quality issues.
• Develop and implement Quality and Food Safety procedures, including GMPs.
• Oversee complaint and nonconformance processes, including CAPA management and vendor issue resolution.
• Participate in mock recalls and validate Food Defense and Food Fraud procedures.
• Research and implement best practices to minimize cross-contamination risks, particularly allergen separation.
• Investigate product complaints and report on food safety and quality concerns.
• Review packaging proofs and assist with internal label generation.
• Serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholder inquiries regarding quality and safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.37 - $42.74 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
