ST. CLAIR COUNTY TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER
FULL-TIME BUILDING SUBSTITUTE
POSITION SUMMARY
The St. Clair County Technical Education Center is seeking qualified building substitutes to provide instruction to students in grades 11 and 12. This position may fill in for instructors or paraprofessionals based on the needs of the building each day. Our instructors are responsible for providing quality instruction to students; our paraprofessionals are responsible for supporting instructors and students.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for a State of Michigan Substitute Teaching permit (60 credit hours).
- Teaching experience with high school students preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver coherent, high-quality instruction and support to high school students.
- Develop and maintain an educational environment sensitive to students’ individual learning needs.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with St. Clair TEC staff and administration.
- Develop and maintain strong lines of communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist, and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep the program neat, clean, orderly, and in accordance with safety regulations.
- Follow policies and procedures outlined in the Staff Handbook, Student Handbook, and Board of Education Policy Manual.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Position Employment Date: upon board approval, pending a background check and drug screening
Salary: $21.86-26.14 per hour
Fringes: per Instructional Technician bargaining agreement (full family health, dental, and vision, life, paid leave, retirement)
Employment Date: 2024-2025 school year
