Technica USA a 40-year-old company located in San Jose, CA, with offices located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, has an opening for Equipment Field Service Technician to install and service equipment sold to the printed circuit board fabrication and other related industries. Principal Responsibilities:
- Install and provide follow up repair and preventative maintenance service on PAL (Process Automation International Limited) electroplating equipment used in the manufacturing of printed circuits boards and related industries
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems for equipment, ensuring optimal automation and control of processes
- Collaborate with Customer’s teams to program, test, and maintain PLC systems for process monitoring and adjustments
- Provide recommendation on the techniques for troubleshooting complex issues, and advising the team on best practices in electroplating, associated chemistries, equipment use, and safety
- Support compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations related to the equipment and the chemicals used in conjunction with the equipment.
- Work according to Customer’s safety measures and maintain an excellent safety record
- Support Customers development of technical documentation related to specific processes, PLC programming, process controls, test data, maintenance records, and quality reports
- Support design of manufacturability in future projects by providing inputs on electroplating equipment capabilities and constraints to engineering teams during new product introduction
- Support Customer’s team efforts to improve process efficiency and reduce production costs by identifying automation opportunities and collaborating with Customer’s team to implement PLC-driven solutions.
- Provide telephone support and assistance through remote accesses software to assist and help diagnose a problem
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex PLC-related issues, and implement long-term process improvements
- Experience with electroplating automation in PCB process equipment operations for new equipment and solutions
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment with engineers, technicians, and leadership
- Must be mechanically inclined and possess basic level electrical knowledge
- Travel domestically more than 50% of time and in some cases, on short notice
- Bi-lingual in English and Mandarin is desired but not necessary
- Should have good verbal and written communications skills and moderate computer skills
- Must present themselves in a professional manner during site visits
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related technical field (with 5 years of equivalent experience exhibiting similar skill set as outlined above)
- Knowledge of PAL or similar electroplating equipment operation, associated chemistries or process control preferred by not required to apply
- Knowledge and experience working with equipment automation systems
- Experience with typical PLC systems (Omron (preferred) , Mitsubishi, Alan Bradley, Siemens) programming, troubleshooting, and integrating them into equipment operations for process control and automation.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
