What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at TECHNOLOGY TESTING INC?
This position is responsible for the safety, technical leadership, direction, and monitoring of all aspects of the business and its personnel.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for the Companies Environmental Health and Safety requirements in a construction environment focused on crane equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety programs and clients requirements.
- Work with field personnel on assessment and training.
- Conduct periodic site visits to monitor and assess the execution of the safety program.
- Provide guidance/training to company personnel on Occupational Safety & Health Issues.
- Investigate and review all injuries and incidents/accidents and provide follow up as needed.
- Provide job site incident response.
- Conducts comprehensive safety training for new hires, required OSHA training and supplementary safety training for all employees.
- Partner with Branch Managers to develop and implement safety programs and processes.
- Responsible for maintaining 3rd party Safety Compliance websites.
- Review all OSHA 300, 300A and 301 reports.
- Work with Human Recourses on Workers Compensation cases and help monitor employees return to work programs as needed.
- Drive sustainable safety improvements.
- Support sales staff with technical information.
- Serve on the safety committee and make suggestions to the Safety Committee on ways to improve the Companys safety performance.
- Review, finalize and approve all customer safety questionnaires.
- Administer, monitor, and ensure that all crane and concrete pump operator certifications are up to date for required personnel.
- Monitor and ensure that all OSHA and DOT training is scheduled for all departments.
- Administer, monitor, and ensure that mechanics crane operation training is conducted as required.
- Supervise, monitor and ensure that all daily vehicle inspection reports and Hours of Service Logs are turned in when required.
- Help to schedule and conduct update of the Health and Safety Manual as needed.
- Review all Job Safety Observations, ZIPs, etc. and follow up to ensure corrective action completed. Ensure all counseling relating to safety matters is completed by managers.
- Supervise, monitor, and ensure that forklift training certification and inspections are up to date for required personnel.
- Coordinate, plan, and present all branch safety meetings.
- Responsible for incident investigations and follow up as needed.
- Monitor all Company equipment OSHA and DOT certifications deadlines and ensure they are current.
- Respond to all Operations and customer requests to forward full OSHA crane inspection reports and ensure Company policy is followed.
- Supervise, monitor and ensure regular asset audits are conducted for all safety related items (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, accident kits, seat belts, reflective tape, windshields, trailer deck holes, etc.)
- Ensure all Safety policies and procedures are followed.
Must be CSM or CSP Certified
Must have a minimum of 5 years experiencein Safety management, ideally in the construction industry.
Must be proficient in OSHA rules, regulations and reporting requirements
Knowledge of DOT requirements, regulations and reporting requirements
Strong knowledge of local, state and Federal safety regulations
Proficient in including the use of Microsoft Office and Safety management software
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Detailed orientated with strong problem solving abilities
