Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for providing technical support to equipment, processes, and support groups in an effort to improve machine run time, productivity and scrap variances while maintaining or improving machine capabilities. Hands-on web handling experience required with poly, film, foil, paper and foam substrates to produce flexible packaging laminates and coated material. |
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: AS in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline; or 5 years related experience in flexible packaging manufacturing with emphasis on extrusion coating and laminating. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to think strategically, exercise independent judgment and problem solve; ability to work cohesively with multi-functional development and process teams LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts as applied to daily responsibility and task. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
