What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Lead- 12 hour days (5:45am-6pm) position at TekniPlex?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directs and leads other maintenance technicians in their daily assignments.
- Assesses priority of work assignments and delegates accordingly.
- Coordinates tools changes with production schedule.
- Records and keeps performance documentation on department personnel to assist Manager with performance appraisals.
- Fully understands the Maintenance Management System, its capabilities and takes responsibility for training and proper data entry.
- Follows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
- Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”
- Must be willing to work a 2/2/3 schedule 12 hour shifts (5:45pm-6am)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Successfully completed all Maintenance Skills Assessment levels. 2 years of trade school or a minimum of five years direct manufacturing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to use precision measuring devices, such as micrometer, calipers and squares. Must have a significant understanding of production equipment, process function and support equipment. Thorough knowledge of facility and facility equipment required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
