Looking for an opportunity to work with a collaborative team in Tennessee State government? People & Organizational Development is looking for a dynamic, organized, self-starter for a position in our Central Office in Nashville who will be responsible for implementing and coordinating a Risk Management Program. This position will manage the Safety Coordinator and report to the Deputy Director of Employee Relations, Performance, and Culture. This position will develop and implement safety protocols and coordinate and develop consistent onboarding safety training for vehicles, water and boats, and side-by-side vehicles. Other primary areas of focus will include chainsaws, building safety, herbicides/chemicals, and other training as needed. The minimum qualifications (MQs) for this position include a bachelor’s degree, preferably in risk management or a related degree, with a Certified Risk Management (CRM) certification and 5-7 years of experience in Risk and Safety experience, increasing responsibility. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Implement onboarding safety trainings related to vehicles, water and boast, and side-by-side vehicles.
- Manages the Safety Coordinator who oversees OSHA-TOSHA compliance, medical monitoring, and workers’ compensation.
- Other programs this position will be responsible for include chainsaw, building safety, herbicide/chemicals handling and storage.
- Communicates effectively across multiple Divisions and with the Deputy Director. • Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively and resolve unforeseen events or situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Demonstrates the ability to coach and influence managers.
- Takes a data-driven approach to understanding organizational challenges and develops recommendations based on data analysis.
- Willing to travel state-wide 20-30%.

Salary : $77,748 - $123,120
