Independently works to define, document, strategize, standardize & implement all BIM processes. The incumbent should have excellent understanding of all elements of Design / Build project workflows, and how BIM workflows can and should be used to streamline budgets & create efficiencies while maximizing profits on a project by project basis. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all teams are coordinated and utilizing the proper BIM workflows and adhering to the plan set forth. Developing & creating project specific BIM execution plans are vital to this role, working to satisfy all owner/contractual requirements while minimizing risk. The Manager of BIM shall create & foster a culture of BIM practices and work to gain adoption from all aspects of the business unit and serve as an example for other business units.

Requirements

• Normally requires a 2-year degree in Design or other related field and a minimum of 10 years production experience in design, drafting, or engineering OR BS in architecture, engineering or construction management. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a design/construction environment.
• Advanced knowledge of all BIM technology including but not limited to, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360, Revizto, Lumion, Assemble, Structionsite, Cyclone, unreal engine, dynamo, PowerBi.
• Advanced understanding of LOD requirements, Latest LOD specification, responsibility matrices, and standard AIA BIM contractual documents.
• Advanced understanding of creating / implementing BIM execution plans & the impacts on both the design and construction side.
• Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft windows apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Powerpoint).
• Advanced Dynamo / PowerBI skills.
• Laser Scanning certification.
• Usage of drones for mapping environments.
• Enhanced knowledge of AR/VR technologies.

• Involved in the early stages of new projects in an advisory capacity for how the work will be completed as it pertains to delivering the overall project to the owner and identifying ways that BIM can be used to enhance the project.
• Attending BIM interviews, owner meetings if required in order to promote, explain & showcase the BIM plans and processes being set forth for the project.
• Define & implement BIM execution plans for Design & Construction teams.
• Support BIM coordinator when issues arise on projects.
• Define, standardize & implement standard workflows and procedures for all BIM software, including those used by design, process, preconstruction & construction teams.
• Develop BIM technology strategy for Eastern business unit as it pertains to current design authoring, coordination & construction related technology.
• Develop / create software deployments for all software related to BIM, for all business units, including coordinating updates, add-ins & service packs.
• Work closely with IT to provide input for IT initiatives and validation that BIM workflows will be supported & make recommendations for optimal results.
• Work closely with Consulting, Marketing, Facilities, Design, preconstruction & construction managers to develop efficiencies utilizing BIM techniques.
• Create project specific workflows / procedures based on deliverables, budget and project needs.
• Support marketing / proposal efforts to enhance deliverables and drive better sales through the use of technology.
• business unit offices to reinforce use of BIM & provide updates & training.
• Travel to sites to evaluate and identify potential for implementing new processes and procedures. Attend/foster BIM project kickoff meetings with subs.
• Provide high level training to sales & project management teams on BIM topics and workflows.
• Develop strategy for streamlining the methods for sharing information between Design, preconstruction & construction teams by utilizing BIM workflows.
• Develop standard dashboards for tracking project & user metrics.
• Develop use cases on per project basis for use of technology.
• Define BIM budgets/timelines for BIM Coordinator / technology involvement in projects.
• Define / Develop standard hardware/software packages for field staff.
• Training program for field staff on how to properly utilize BIM.
• Define / Develop standard job trailer / IT infrastructure packages in order to facilitate the use of BIM technology.
• Attend interviews for potential hires to assess BIM competency.
• Manage internal laser scanning usage.
• Perform laser scanning, & point cloud optimization.
• Manage internal Drone usage.
• Develop training program – train certified users.
• Review design intent models from outside designers / develop reports.
• Create / Manage enterprise software solutions / license management.
