The Project Manager (PM) has the responsibility to manage the complete project as assigned to him /her. These responsibilities include quality, safety, profitability, schedule, project team supervision, and all aspects of the project. The project manage is the single point of accountability in the delivery of Austin’s commitments to its clients, and therefore to its shareholders and stakeholders. The PM will be assigned projects and provided detailed expectations and authorities associated with the projects they are assigned. In addition to project execution responsibilities mentioned above, the PM has responsibility for successfully managing the client relationship, subcontractor and supplier relationships, and then general culture on the site.
Please note that while this position 'reports' to Cleveland, this is a travelling project based role.

Requirements
- Twelve years or more of project delivery experience, including leadership experience OR Eight years of project delivery experience, including leadership experience AND Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related degree program.
- Experience managing food and/or beverage projects in required.
- All relevant safety training completed. If not in place, OSHA 30 will be required to obtain.
- Knowledgeable in project management software
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Ability to follow directions, make decisions and take initiative
- Experience leading team in complex fast-paced environments that require rapid technical decision making is a plus.
- Excellent communication, accounting and organizational skills
- Prior experience as construction field engineer, project design manager, construction manager, or assistance project manager.
- Professional certifications in project management and/or construction / construction management a plus.
These essential functions will be project dependent and at the discretion of the GM
- Participates in project estimating and proposal preparation
- Overall responsibility for ensuring project documentation is completed per requirements and in the appropriate programs.
- Reviews assigned project(s) after awarded to assist in defining project scope, work packages and schedule and budget development
- Develops relationship with the client representative to ensure client expectations are managed and met.
- Keeps all stakeholders informed of project status including planning, major milestones, change impacts and progress against the plan
- Ensures the active management of change and change control on the project.
- Submits documents to Federal, state and local authorities for code compliance review and obtains the various permits required
- Ensures information for progress billing purposes is submitted correctly and on time
- Mentor project team personnel
- Maintains staff morale and culture on the project site.
- Creates, manages, gets buy-in to the project schedules, look ahead schedules and other planning documents / plans.
- Leads the creation and maintenance of a project execution plan.
- Schedules team building events that provide opportunity to bring team together and improve team camaraderie
- Meets with client management as needed to resolve issues and at a project’s completion to obtain final client approvals
- Maintains a continuing business relationship with major clients as part of ongoing business development efforts
- Responsible for QAQC
- Facilitates regularly scheduled project meetings to:
- Review current progress to plan
- Reviews delays and cost overruns and develops plans to avoid or minimize impacts
- Proactively identify risks and conflicts to allow for resolution prior to impacting project execution
- Ensures contract’s terms, conditions, and specifications are being met
- Confirms project personnel adhere to federal and state regulatory requirements and company policies
- Reviews any manpower, equipment, materials, and quality concerns and develops plans for resolution
- Hold regular individual meetings with onsite direct reports to:
- Set clear objectives and deliverables
- Review adherence to the definition of their role
- Determine if there are questions or concerns that need to be addressed
- Develop training plans to provide growth / learning opportunities
- Ensure direct report vacation and PTO are scheduled to minimize disruption to project
- Evaluate project team members and provide input for the purpose of performance evaluations.
- Lead manage and hold accountable team members assigned to their project.
- Be the first point of contact for any personnel issues or concerns. Elevate as required.
- Mentor project delivery team members, act and perform as a professional leader within the company.
