Position Overview
Our BT Wealth Management and Trust Services teams are committed to taking the time to understand our clients’ financial goals and objectives, while working closely with other professionals to achieve a comprehensive wealth management strategy. We will coordinate the resources a client needs, which will typically include traditional trust, investment advisory, estate planning, retirement planning, and private banking services. It is the goal of the Trust Administrator to enhance the client relationship by providing comprehensive assistance to the Trust Officers as they work closely with the clients.
The Trust Administrator is responsible for supporting the Trust Officers and Portfolio Manager in various administrative duties for the efficient administration of Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, ILITS, Special Needs Trusts, Guardianships, Probate, and Custody accounts. The Trust Administrator also works closely with the internal operations team to act as a back-up to complete on-site operations tasks.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides administrative and operational support to Trust Officers.
- Provides superior client service and responds to inquiries from internal and external clients in a timely manner.
- Investigates and resolves problems within given knowledge level.
- Answers and directs calls; takes and relays messages; sorts, screens, and distributes mail with minimal supervision.
- Contacts and corresponds with persons, agencies and organizations who have an interest in assigned accounts. Builds relationships with beneficiaries and clients to understand their needs and succinctly presents to Trust Officers.
- Performs duties including scheduling appointments and/or tasks as necessary; assembles documents, reports, or other information as required.
- Monitors account transactions, including a daily review and resolving overdrafts, automatic deposits and a weekly review of standing remittances.
- Performs money movement for all trust, agency and custody accounts.
- Assists with opening new accounts by obtaining information and documentation from clients; reviewing and analysing trust governing documents; tracking and following up on outstanding documentation; and completing new account forms and checklists.
- Assists Trust Director and Trust Team with projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with 3 years prior work experience in a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Trust or Financial Services experience in a banking or legal environment.
- Math skills: calculate interest and balance; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percentages.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills ( listening, confidence, professionalism) with individuals across all levels of the organization, both internal and external.
- Utilizes critical thinking to adhere to instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence.
- Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong judgment, ethics, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently; and, able to work well in group setting.
