Description

  • Advises Management in resolution of employee issues, including participating in meetings when needed.  Responds to employee and management inquires regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Attends Plant Manager’s daily staff meeting. 
  • Provides Plant Manager with weekly headcount information and additional information as needed.
  • Conducts and/or assists in investigations into claims of workplace violence and sexual harassment.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.  Insures policies, procedures, and programs are in compliance and are being applied consistently.
  • Recruits, interviews, selects and conducts orientations for associates to fill vacant positions.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates management training in human resources skills, performance reviews, and sexual harassment.
  • Administers benefits, salary, and performance review programs to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.
  • Maintains employee personnel files and records.
  • Represents company at employee hearings and investigations.
  • Generates documentation regarding terminations and other issues, conducts and/or coordinates exit interviews, and produces absenteeism/turnover reports.
  • Prepares Human Resources budget and insures department operates within budget.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide associate services.
  • Insures effective payroll and benefit administration.
  • Manages employee activities and communications.
  • Insures safe and healthful working conditions and an organized work environment.
  • Represents company in public relations situations such as charitable donations and community events.
  • Coaches and reviews performance of direct reports.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Bachelor’s degree in HR or related area, or equivalent training and experience which will provide a working knowledge of laws, regulations, practices and procedures in HR.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), HRIS, e-mail and automated timekeeping systems preferred.  PHR certification is preferred

Requires 5 or more years Human Resource Generalist experience with  at least 2 years at a management level in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in HR or related area, or equivalent training and experience which will provide a working knowledge of laws, regulations, practices and procedures in HR.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), HRIS, e-mail and automated timekeeping systems preferred.  PHR certification is preferred.

Core competencies include strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to handle conflict resolution.  Must be able to analyze and interpret data and develop and relate ideas.  Multi-tasking and decision-making ability is a must.
