Job Summary
The Assembly role is responsible for producing hand-cut and assembled foam components by operating various machinery such as gluing, fusing, sawing, and assembly equipment. This position ensures accuracy, quality, and compliance with Acuity Foam Fabrication quality policies. The ideal candidate has experience with assembly processes and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional communication with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
- Read work orders and blueprints to determine processes required.
- Identify and properly handle a variety of materials based on Material ID.
- Operate equipment and observe machine functions to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Ensure parts match blueprints, work orders, and Acuity Foam Fabrication tolerance requirements.
- Accurately complete all required production records.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace, performing general cleaning and equipment maintenance.
- May be required to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Reaching – Extending hands and arms in various directions.
- Grasping – Applying pressure with fingers and palms to handle materials.
- Visual acuity required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
Qualifications
- 3-6 months of assembly or related experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Ability to understand and communicate basic English.
- Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to convert fractions and decimals, read a ruler in increments of 1/16” and .06”.
- Consistent and timely attendance required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team setting.
