We are seeking Assistant Teachers who are passionate about working with young children. to design, build, and maintain operations systems, processes, and tools for the whole school across 3 buildings. Assistant Teachers provide a warm, caring environments where children learn and grow while supporting Head teachers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of students
- Assist in developing culturally appropriate programs and activities
- Establish routines and procedures for daily learning/play experiences
- Supervision of students in the classroom
- Establish routines with head teacher and provide positive guidance for behavioral outcomes
- Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
- Communicate to parents on an as needed basis about child’s behavior, positive and negative, with approval of Head Teacher
- Collaborate regularly with Head Teacher to develop weekly plans and activities
- Perform assigned tasks as designated by head teacher/director
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Associates degree in education/related field or CDA preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in child care setting
- Ability to relate positively to young children, parents and staff
- Willing to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the program.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Must be technological literate. Assistant Teachers will be required to use, manage, understand, and assess technology.
