Description
The City of Moraine is currently hiring for a full-time Superintendent of Building Maintenance. This position is a division manager, responsible for the installation, maintenance, cleaning and repair of the City’s buildings and recreation facilities. Serves as the project manager for building development and enhancement. Supervises all Building Maintenance personnel and prepares and manages annual budget. Work is performed under general supervision of the City Manager
Person may be required to obtain certain equipment training and skill certifications as necessary for duties and responsibilities.
Salary
The expected salary range for this position is approximately $85,592 to $109,242 (depending on qualifications of the selected candidate), with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and vision insurance options, retirement plan and a generous leave package.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experience, supplemented by courses in building construction, mechanics, and facilities management; and/or experience in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of indoor and outdoor facilities; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must comply with all City rules and regulations (PPM). All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
- Considerable knowledge of facilities maintenance.
- Considerable knowledge of price, grades, or quality of materials and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of OSHA, State and related City safety regulations and policies.
- Thorough knowledge of workplace safety principles and practices.
- Ability to read building and construction blueprints.
- Knowledge of facility sub-systems such as electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
- Knowledge with project bidding processes.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
- Process confidential information with discretion.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with division personnel, other City divisions, the City Manager and City Council.
- Ability to deal effectively with the public.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain good physical condition in order to work outdoors under various weather conditions, as well as indoors. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, or sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and operate equipment or controls. They may also have to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb and descend ladders and stairs or work from heights above the ground while on a ladder, scaffolding, or roof. The employee will occasionally lift medium weight items, 50 pounds or less, such as equipment or other material.
- Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Corrective lenses may be worn to aid in specific vision requirements.
- Requires normal hearing abilities.
- Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License without record of suspension or revocation from any state.
- Must be of good moral character, with no disqualifying criminal history.
