This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan. Benefits start first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.
The Doe Run Company is currently seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for supporting accounting functions, including performing daily billing activities, satisfying information requests from various auditors, assisting with internal control testing, and document filing. This position is located at our Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO.
Responsibilities:
- Process, maintain and review sales activity and accounts receivable by evaluating results compared to sales contracts, maintaining sales audits and general ledger account review.
- Provide account analysis of sales and receivables.
- Preparation and entry of month end journals and other accounting related duties.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a general accountant.
- Knowledge of general ledger account reconciliation.
- Experience analyzing billing and invoicing using a complex billing structure.
- ERP experience, Peoplesoft preferred.
- Knowledge of general accounting standards and principles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency using MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to understand and navigate through complex tasks and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Detail oriented with the ability to comprehend, process and analyze information quickly and accurately
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general accounting preferred (reconciliation, general ledger, etc.).
Work Environment, Lifting & Physical Requirements:
- General office environment. Exposed to quiet noise levels.
- Frequently requires sitting, talking, and hearing; occasionally requires standing and walking, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, carrying, stooping, reaching, handling, and grasping. Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 5 pounds.
