Job Summary
Responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of case management related to personal injury matters. Primary responsibilities are to handle claims for injuries or accidents caused by another party. Acts as the intermediary between clients and firm attorneys, gathers and enters all necessary data into the firm’s case management system, tracks and adheres to litigation deadlines, maintains case files, and completes any other tasks as directed by the supervising attorney.
Essential Functions
- Acts as the primary point of contact for firm clients related to personal injury matters and relays information between firm attorneys and clients.
- Collects all necessary documentation and evidence related to the claim including medical records, witness statements, and discovery responses.
- Ensures that all claim related data and documents are properly stored and organized in the firm’s case management software.
- Receives, reviews and coordinates discovery responses and legal documents.
- Coordinates and calendars depositions, court hearings, and arbitrations.
- Communicates with insurance companies, investigators, medical offices, defense counsel, and other related parties about the status of assigned cases.
Education & Experience
- Three or more years of experience working as a paralegal/legal assistant managing cases in a high-volume personal injury firm – required.
- Experience with cloud based, personal injury case management software required – Needles Neos experience strongly preferred.
- 2 Year (Associate's) degree in law, business, communications or a related field required.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
