Location: East Windsor, NJ (Hybrid: 1 day/week in-office, remote work with some travel during event months)
Commitment: 6–8 hours/week (up to 10 hours during peak event months: March, July, August)
Duration: February–August 2025

Family Resource Network (FRN) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by epilepsy, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and chronic conditions.
For nearly 50 years, FRN has offered 50 programs and services that positively impact the health and well-being of approximately 30,000 individuals annually across New Jersey.
About the Role :
The Development Specialist position offers a hands-on opportunity to develop expertise in nonprofit leadership, event planning, and community engagement. You will play an essential role in the success of FRN’s signature fundraising events, which unite the families we serve, community supporters, corporate sponsors, and board members to celebrate and advance our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Coordination & Logistics

Support event preparation, on-site execution, and post-event wrap-up.

Assist with event essentials, including sponsorship materials, name tags, programs, and signage.

Help with event setup (e.g., tables, decorations) and manage guest check-in.

Ensure a positive and engaging experience for attendees and volunteers.
Sponsorship & Outreach

Conduct outreach to secure raffle items and other in-kind donations.

Engage event teams and encourage peer-to-peer fundraising and participation among attendees.
Marketing & Administrative Support

Organize and store event materials for future use.

Collect and curate photos and testimonials for marketing campaigns.

Coordinate vendor communications to confirm details and deliveries as directed by the special events manager.

Key Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university or a recent graduate with a demonstrated interest in nonprofit work.

Strong communication, research, organizational, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and travel within New Jersey for events (mileage reimbursed).

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and flexible, with a passion for community impact.
