Job Overview
The Flanders Hotel is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Maintenance professional to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities are clean, well-maintained, and conducive to a safe and pleasant environment for all employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial skills, along with experience in industrial cleaning, commercial cleaning, and facilities maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors in all facility areas.
- Emptying trash cans, recycling, and ensuring waste is disposed of properly.
- Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, meeting rooms, public spaces and work areas.
- Performing cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, waxing floors and vacuuming.
- *Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
- Conducting routine inspections of the premises to check for maintenance issues.
- Maintenance outdoor areas such as removing snow or debris and keeping pathways clear and safe.
- Performing minor repair work, such as fixing leaky toilets, cleaning blocked toilets, replacing light bulbs, changing filters and cleaning HVAC units.
- Reporting any major maintenance issues or repairs to the facility manager.
- *Ensure the facility's security by locking doors after operating hours.
- Follow safety regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a janitor, cleaner or similar role.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Integrity and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during work hours.
- Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure the cleanliness and orderly condition of the facility.
