Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance & Accounting department’s day-to-day function as well as month end close. In this role you will be actively involved in every step of the accounting process. This is a great opportunity to gain new experience with a growing business. Position Purpose

• Produces and manages balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Assists with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization.
• Assists with preparations for reviews
• Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances, including monthly reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts
• Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
• Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Identifies areas of opportunity for improvement and develop new processes.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
• Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
• Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
• Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
• Identifying Solutions to discrepancies in financial records

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday-Office hours 8:30-5:00- Hybrid schedule available.

Salary: $70-$80K- Pay based on experience

Education Requirements: BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field required and CPA, preferred

Work Experience Requirements: At least 2-4 years of experience in accounting; proven experience in an accounting role
