Job Description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the HR department's day-to-day operations, ensuring that all HR functions, such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, compliance and benefits, are effectively handled. They will work closely with department managers and senior leadership to align HR strategies with The Hearthstone’s goals.

This is not a Work from Home position. It requires in-office attendance.

Duties/Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing:

  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.

 Employee Relations

  • Serve as a liaison between management and employees, addressing employee concerns and resolving workplace conflicts.
  • Maintain and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Manage employee engagement programs, surveys, and feedback initiatives, including, but not limited to participating in The Hearthstone’s Employee Appreciation and Recognition Team (H.E.A.R.T.) committee.

 Performance Management

  • Oversee performance review processes, including goal-setting and feedback.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance improvement plans.
  • Assist in succession planning and career development initiatives.

 Compensation & Benefits

  • Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, bonuses, and health insurance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal regulations regarding pay, benefits, and time off.
  • Analyze compensation data and recommend adjustments when necessary.

 Compliance & Legal

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Develop, update, and enforce company policies and procedures.

 Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and assist in the development of programs to enhance employee skills and professional development.
  • Conduct or coordinate workshops, seminars, and other training sessions.

 HR Strategy

  • Partner with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on organizational structure, culture, and talent management.
  • Monitor HR metrics and analyze trends to make informed business decisions.

 Health & Safety

  • Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with occupational health regulations.
  • Handle workplace safety incidents and assist in the development of prevention programs.

Skills & Abilities

 Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

 Organization: Strong multitasking and organizational skills to handle various HR tasks simultaneously.

 Conflict Resolution: Skilled at mediating disputes and fostering cooperation.

 Decision-Making: Ability to make informed and timely decisions, especially in fast-paced environments.

 Ethics and Confidentiality: Upholding high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Education

Prefer bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

 Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a management role.

 Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.

Proficiency with HR software and tools (e.g., HRIS and ATS systems).

 Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 Leadership and team management experience.

Computer Skills

 Ability to effectively utilize basic software and email.

Certificates & Licenses

 Prefer PHR or SPHR certification
