Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educator/Program Manager to join our part-time staff. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to promote and develop arts and educational programs for children and adults in the local community.
Founded in 1890, the museum stays true to its core mission of preserving Ipswich's cultural, social, and architectural history while making it relevant to every day life. The museum has the largest single collection of works by Arthur Wesley Dow. In his honor, we run yearly art classes and workshops in a variety of mediums.
The Educator is responsible for the coordination and development of the Dow program as well as school presentations, workshops, and promoting events via social media. They also organize committee meetings, recruit volunteers to serve on the Education and Dow Arts committee and build/utilize existing relationships with teachers, artists, instructors, and other community leaders.
Qualifications
- Great organizational and communication skills
- An interest in history and art
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Enthusiasm and flexibility
- Experience editing website with WordPress is helpful but not required
- BA in history, art history, education, or related field
