Job Description:
SUMMARY:
The Personnel Assistant I (Traffic Clerk) will support, will operate and maintain the reception control front desk, briefings, and scheduling in support of the reception and in-processing and out processing of Active, Reserve and National Guard component Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Civilian and Contract Personnel. Assist in managing traffic throughout the SRPC. Will maintain DA 200s, SRPC, reports, opening/securing the building and other duties assigned in the Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRPC).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exercises discretion, tact and good judgment when dealing with clients.
- Establishes/Maintains required forms, records, and files.
- Makes appropriate additions, revisions, and/or edits to records and files.
- Ensures requirements for “For Official Use Only” materials are properly followed, received, and secured in accordance with Army Regulations.
- Receives and answers routine and complex telephone and electronic mail inquires or refers to appropriate staff member.
- Uses good judgment and tact to answer recurring questions and resolve clerical and/or administrative problems.
- Provides data input, information retrieval, and manipulation services to service members.

- Research and reviews personnel records for mistakes or gaps and rectify changes.
- Research and/or provides factual information on personnel related issues to service members regarding directly applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements to provide explanations of actions taken or recommended.
- Ensures that regulatory requirements related to a specific action are met.
- Uses administrative and clerical skills to maneuver and process through various software systems to complete tasks.
- Provides full service in-and-out processing support for service members, contractors, and civilians.
- Provides a control element for S-1/3/5/AG.
- Oversees the SRPC reception control front desk, briefing rooms, and scheduling desk.
- Conducts mobilization/demobilization briefings for the SRPC site.
- Prepares and reviews DA 200’s.
- Support and enforce the QC/Safety’s program with all directed guidance.
- Will cross train with ID’s (DEERS), AG (DD93’s), and Transitions (DD214’s).
- Comply with all Project Directives and The Logistics Company policies.
- Must comply with all OSHA regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Adjutant General functions of the U.S. Army.
- College degree and military background is a plus.
- Working knowledge of objectives, processes, and procedures of military personnel management to include automation functions in the Defense the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
- Must have proficient computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with employees within the office, personnel in other offices and military personnel to clarify, obtain or provide information.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to relate to and work with people.
- Effective and effectual communications skills.
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to obtain access and be proficient in one or more automated systems to accomplish tasks as required by mission requirements, such as DEERS, RAPIDS.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CAC Card access and network access.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time with minimal breaks.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have exceptional communication skills. Ability to operate general office equipment such as: personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile. Computer skills required to include ability to utilize computer automated systems to perform assigned duties including Microsoft Office Suite, and email functions. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time, often in rough high-desert terrain and in severe weather; moving or lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds; operating through extended periods of high stress. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The section normal operating hours are Sunday through Saturday from 0600 hours to 1800 hrs. to include CRC Operations Support. In addition, personnel will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirement to include weekends and holidays. Overtime can be required.
EXPECTATIONS:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Reliable transportation to/from work is a necessity. Must be able to maintain proper state registration, proof of insurance, and a valid driver's license to operate Privately Owned Vehicles (POV) on a military installation. As a condition of employment, must have acceptable background check results and pass a pre-employment drug screening. This position may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing on an unannounced basis. Timesheets must be completed daily, ensuring that you accurately record your actual work hours. Timely and precise timesheet entries are essential for maintaining our records and ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, please remember to dress appropriately for your shift and be punctual.
