Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will lead our customers through the correct step-by-step accounting processes. These processes produce highly accurate financial statements and reports which help our clients truly understand the effectiveness of their systems for sales and estimating, customer service, human capital and overhead. Act as a trusted advisor to clients by explaining financial data and system insights in clear, actionable terms.
· Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
· Prepare monthly financial statements and related KPI reports
· Maintain general ledger, prepare journal entries, and streamline/ lead Month End Close Process
· Generates weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual operational reports
· Verify and/or completes payment of invoices associate with account payable and ensures payments are charged to appropriate accounts
· Timely production of a specific style of P&L
· Integration of QuickBooks with several industry specific software programs
· Implementation of basic procedures for time tracking, purchase orders and inventory management, as well as implementation of specific industry software as needed
· Learn and implement existing spreadsheets and software applications for zero based budgeting and report generation
Position Requirements:
· Proven track record of execution in small business accounting.
· Four-year degree in Accounting; other Business or Management degrees may be okay if the candidate has relevant on-the-job experience
· Prior experience in the landscaping or construction industry is highly preferred.
· Five or more years in an accounting environment supporting standard and/or actual cost systems in a manufacturing environment
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong understanding of all departmental functions and responsibilities within a business unit
· Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with both internal teams and external clients.
· Strong computer system (hardware/software) knowledge as it relates to system installation and support.
· Experience with all Windows operating systems and networking systems. Experience with all functions of an ERP software system.
· Ability to use computer software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Self-motivated, coachable but confident, able to handle multiple projects
