Company Description
The Painted Turtle is a nonprofit year-round camp for children with serious medical conditions located in Lake Hughes, CA. As a member of the SeriousFun Children's Network, founded by Paul Newman, all families and campers attend camp programs free of charge. The camp aims to inspire children with serious medical conditions to reach beyond their illness and become their greater selves.
This is a seasonal position from mid May to mid August. Housing and meals are provided.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age: 19
- Ability to accept supervision, observe camper behavior, enforce safety regulations, and apply behavior management techniques.
- Ability to physically and mentally assist with camper care (8-10 campers, 24/7).
- Strong emotional endurance, patience, and ability to lead and support campers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in staff training.
- Supervise 8-10 campers, modeling behavior, and providing emotional support.
- Encourage full participation in camp activities, empowering campers to solve problems and develop positive relationships.
- Assist with daily camper needs, including meals, hygiene, and medication.
- Lead and organize cabin activities (e.g., Chill Time, Stage Night).
- Maintain cabin cleanliness and safety.
- Adhere to camp policies and American Camping Accreditation standards.
- Report incidents and ensure camper safety at all times.
- Attend required meetings and follow through on camp duties.
