some duties may include:
- Plan and implement daily activities for the residents living in the residential care facility.
- Assist with socialization goals for all residents.
- Provide a scheduled activity on a monthly calendar basis for individuals and groups and ensure activities are completed.
- Attend OAP meetings and complete quarterly progress notes to include activity participation goals, preferred activities, and completed activities in prior 3 months.
- Assisting residents with budgets (i.e. cigarettes, shopping, monthly bills etc.)
- Plan and obtain supplies for cooking classes
- Purchase and obtain supplies for activities approved by Administrator
- Supervise volunteers that assist with the activities
- Ensure that company vans are ready and available for use for off-site activities
- Supervise and coordinate resident council meetings
- Effectively with all levels of employees, our handicapped residents, the public and Pride Group management when planning activities.
- Participate in Department Head Meetings monthly
- Attending monthly Inservices and direct one inservice per year with topic on Activities
- Assisting consumers with personal needs and hobbies (ie: compute skills, photo albums, etc.)
- Assist with organization of donations
- Document daily on activity participation daily for all residents involved
PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have Activity Coordinator’s Certificate or complete Activity Coordinator’s Course within 6 months of employment
- Maintain 10 hours a year of continuing education
- Detail oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Able to plan and carryout projects independently and in a timely manner.
- Desire to work with persons with disabilities
- Quality and safety-conscious.
- Clean driving record A valid Chauffeurs license
