The Richmond Group USA (TRG) is seeking an ambitious Financial Planning and Reporting Accountant to join our client, a global manufacturer, in Lynchburg, VA! You will be responsible for helping the business implement efficient and diligent financial practices, while assisting in developing standard accounting procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare, process, and analyze monthly financial results, including reports for capital projects, cost savings, financial metrics, and presentations. Support projections, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Systems and Process Optimization: Lead and enhance the use of IFS software and the Business Intelligence Application for finance. Maintain and ensure proper reporting in systems like OneStream and ERP, while improving reporting processes for financial and non-financial indicators.
- Compliance and Auditing: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, support SOX audits, maintain procedures, and ensure compliance with monthly tax filing requirements.
- Operational and Strategic Support: Provide financial support across all functional areas, including inventory, asset, and business profitability management. Develop and optimize standard processes and best practices.
- General Ledger and Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with financial presentations, corporate reporting, and account validation tasks.
- Ad Hoc Projects and Backup Support: Assist with miscellaneous projects and reports, back up the Financial Planning & Reporting Manager, and provide financial support for other locations as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. CPA, CMA. or MBA is preferred, but not required.
- Technical Proficiency and Problem-Solving: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and fully integrated ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, IFS, OneStream) with the ability to enhance end-user processes. Capable of interpreting instructions and solving practical problems with a blend of technical and business acumen.
- Adaptability and Initiative: Self-starter with a creative, can-do attitude, able to work independently in fast-paced environments, manage changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across functional boundaries, lead teams, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Able to balance a thorough and detailed analytical approach with an understanding of the big picture.
