The Rogosin Institute (RI) is an independent not-for-profit medical care and research organization affiliated with NewYork Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine. The Rogosin Institute is one of the premier centers for the diagnosis and management of kidney disease. The Institute also treats patients with diabetes and hypertension and conducts research in these areas.
Rogosin is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who will be involved in the outpatient primary care and management of patients with all forms of kidney disease. The position is available at our Manhattan East side location.
This position is in-person, 5 days per week.
Job duties under the supervision of a physician include:
A. Evaluation of patients including but not limited to performing histories and physical examinations.
B. Develop and implement clinical care plans for each patient based on their specific needs and the entering of orders needed to implement the care plans.
C. Education of patients and their families as needed.
D. Timely maintenance of accurate and complete documentation within the electronic health record, currently EPIC. Documentation will include all information needed for appropriate billing of medical services rendered.
E. The follow-up of all laboratory and other patient related results.
F. The response to and management of patient related phone calls and other forms of communication.
G. Medication management including but not limited to new therapy, renewals and prior authorizations.
Candidates must be licensed as Acute or Adult Nurse Practitioner in New York State. Experience in primary care and management of patients with kidney disease is required.
