What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position at The Talcott Center for Child Development?
The Talcott Center for Child Development in Farmington has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Medical Receptionist. The Talcott Center provides Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, Speech therapy, and ABA therapy, as well as Social Skills Groups for children ages birth-21, and includes a specialized Comprehensive Autism Program. Our program takes a holistic multidisciplinary approach to unlocking each child to their own potential. The ideal candidate will support the day to day operations of the center such as answering phones and fielding phone calls, scheduling therapy visits and family meetings, calling on client insurance benefits, collecting copayments, and providing support to the clinical staff. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills as the candidate will serve as a primary point of contact for our families. They will act as the liaison for the client and family, working with both administrative and clinical staff from multiple departments to improve the client's overall experience at our center.

Duties:
- Daily scheduling, including cancellations and changes
- Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
- Provide professional communication to ensure a positive client experience
- Be proficient in understanding the variety of services and programs within the center in order to accurately and efficiently respond to new client inquires
- Answer incoming calls promptly and direct calls appropriately according to subject matter
- Correspond with parents regarding schedule changes and notices
- Check on client insurance benefits
- Clinic upkeep and maintenance of appearance
- Communicate effectively with clinicians and staff
- Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in a medical front office setting
- Previous experience with medical/therapeutic scheduling
- Previous experience working with children and families
- Must have afternoon availability as the position is Mon-Thur 3:00-7:00PM

- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Prior experience in a medical office setting, with knowledge of EMR systems

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
