What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sub Contract Purchasing Agent / Buyer position at Therm, Incorporated?
Therm, Incorporated, a leader in providing innovative machining solutions to a global market, is currently seeking a qualified individual for a position in our Manufacturing Department as a Sub Contract Purchasing Agent/ Buyer.
- FIRST SHIFT (7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday)
- Overtime as needed or as business necessitates.
- Starting wage dependent upon experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Oversee daily Purchasing functions and work closely with Purchasing team on any issues / critical items that support Manufacturing.
- Handle all RFQ's, quotes and purchase orders with suppliers for subcontracted services and tooling.
- Work with suppliers for subcontracted operations from quoting to development approvals into production.
- Schedule all subcontract operations / production daily with suppliers.
- Schedule all subcontracted pickups with Courier/Therm truck.
- Perform all job releases for all part numbers that require subcontract services.
- Oversee Tool Crib.
- Oversee Grinding Wheel area.
- Oversee diamond roll, CBN wheel and grinding wheel inventory / scheduling based on needs to support manufacturing requirements and schedule wheel suppliers.
- Schedule and provide updates on all new tooling designs and builds with suppliers.
- Maintain and work with Quality on all Purchasing procedures / audits / supplier log.
- Maintain Purchasing Export Compliance Policy / Procedure.
- Must be on call on nights and weekends to schedule picks ups and courier(‘s) as needed.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Work on various projects to try to come up with better alternatives, cost savings or reduce lead times to continuously improve and support Manufacturing needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to and including 70 pounds.
- Must pass a physical examination including drug testing.
- Background checks also performed.
- At all times, work to Therm, Incorporated Code of Ethics, Safety Standards and Quality Policies while performing operational functions.
EDUCATION /TRAINING:
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Classes and experience in Procurement are a plus.
- Needs to be computer literate, able to learn new programs quickly and accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written skills are a must.
- Able to deal with vendors and people on a professional level.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience helpful.
