Three Rivers Diagnostics is seeking a reliable, experienced, and upbeat Phlebotomist to perform duties in the Louisville, KY area.
Hours:
Availability needed Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Primary Purpose
A Phlebotomist is responsible for using their medical knowledge to take collect samples from patients.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform specimen collections as well as other associated tasks as per applicable SOPs.
· Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials and test tubes
· Accurately update patient information in the organization’s database
· Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
· Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
· Verifying patient information and labeling samples properly.
· Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
· Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas
· Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order.
· Perform all non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate.
· Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
· Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
· Maintain all appropriate specimen collecting logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Ability to work without direct supervision in a team environment.
· Ability to positively communicate effectively with patients, staff, and management.
Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Phlebotomy certification is required.
· At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience is required.
· Must have demonstrated excellent customer service, technical and laboratory skills.
· Ability to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and in accordance with safety guidelines.
· Must have good attendance and reliable transportation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
