Job Summary:
Mackinac Straits System is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hospital pharmacy experience, national certification, and proficiency in Epic for pharmacy-related tasks. In this role, you will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring the accurate preparation of pharmaceutical products. You will also contribute to patient safety by providing exceptional pharmacy support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Perform medication inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure accurate labeling and packaging of medications.
- Process medication orders and verify prescription accuracy using Epic.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in on-call and weekend shifts as required.
