What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Custodian - COA & Human Services position at Town of Foxborough (MA)?
The purpose of this position is to perform manual work in maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of the Council on Aging and Human Services building and grounds.
***This position is 19 hours a weekEssential Functions:
Performs general cleaning and housekeeping within the Council on Aging and Human Services building, including sweeping, mopping waxing and buffing floors; vacuuming carpets and rugs; cleaning/sanitizing restrooms; disposing of trash and recyclables; dusting and general cleaning of offices and furniture; and refilling restroom supplies; and cleaning windows.
Moves and arranges furniture; sets up furniture and equipment for meetings and functions and maintains equipment.
Maintains, or assists with maintenance of, the outside of buildings including operating snow blower, shoveling snow off of stairs and walkways, and sweeping stairs and walkways.
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates. Regular attendance at the workplace is required.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma, one year of experience in custodial and maintenance work
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
General knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment; knowledge of operation of heating and other building systems.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to follow proper methods, procedures and safety precautions. Ability to work independently and to use tools for basic repairs and maintenance.
Skill in operating above mentioned equipment; knowledge of operation of heating and other building systemsPhysical Requirements:
Frequently required to communicate, majority of shift may be spent walking and/or standing. Must be able to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. Must be ablet to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lifts and/or moves objects weighing up to 60 pounds such as tools, equipment, supplies, etc. Must be able to access all levels of a building. vision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges.
