Program Assistant

Part-Time ("On My Own" Playgroup)

The Town of Natick Recreation and Parks Department is currently seeking an energetic, responsible, and outgoing Program Assistant. The Program Assistant will assist with the "On My Own" Playgroup class, which provides a nurturing and engaging environment for children ages 2 to Pre-K. This class is from Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Children in the program enjoy creative arts, music, sensory play, and guided group activities that encourage independence and collaboration. The focus is on fostering confidence, communication, and self-help skills. The "On My Own" Playgroup helps children build a strong foundation for future learning while having fun in a safe and supportive setting. Please note: This is not an EEC-certified program.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Experience working with, volunteering with, or educating children is highly recommended.

Special Requirements

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain it).
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Position Details

This is a part-time, non-benefitted position with a starting pay of $17.50 per hour. The full pay scale range is from $17.50 to $22.75 per hour. We are looking for Wednesday coverage and flexible hours for covering other days of the week. You would be responsible for the setup of the playgroup room, assisting with planning and execution of activities, monitoring social interactions, assisting with toileting processes ( changing diapers, bringing children to the restroom, etc.), parent communication & interaction at drop off and pick up, attending any staff meetings or trainings, and cleaning of the occupied spaces.
