Chief Operating Officer
Summary
The COO is responsible for not only day-to-day activities and profitability, but also for recommending strategies that will impact the company's long-term growth and progress. With direct oversite of 5 facilities located in WI and AL, the COO drives overall productivity, efficiency and cost saving initiatives enterprise wide. Reporting to the President and CEO, the COO oversees all aspects of manufacturing, end-to-end supply chain, CI and automation engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the CFO, CEO and other key executive team members.
- Develop actionable business strategies, objectives, and plans that ensure alignment with short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with Executive Leadership Team
- Develop and track production KPIs inclusive of safety, quality, CI, delivery and cost
- Oversee company operations including production, end to end supply chain, capital investment projects, and teammate productivity while building a highly inclusive culture to ensure team members thrive
- Define, measure and analyze operational KPIs and identify areas of improvement. Focused on creating cost effective, sustainable and scalable operations overall.
- Motivate and encourage teammates at all levels as one of the key leaders in the company including but not limited to professional staff, management level teammates and executive leadership team members.
- Oversees the development of company pro forma forecasts and modeling to aid in collaborative decision making.
- Provides regular, timely reports to the President and Board of Directors concerning the state of the company and the achievement of its goals.
- Provides best in class approaches that routinely differentiate the company from other suppliers and customers. These approaches might lead to
- Engineering co-developing product for manufacturability with customer engineering teams,
lower than normal lead time, - Reduced inventory,
- Cross training of teammates in non-traditional ways,
- Reduced costs or increased profitability, and
- Increased teammate ownership of results

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field. MBA highly preferred
- Experience in metal manufacturing, building products or other construction industries preferred
- 15 years of manufacturing experience with progressive growth of responsibility
- Demonstrated success in change management and culture development
- Experience leading LEAN, CI and safety required.
