Electrical Technician

Tread Corporation is a manufacturer of bulk explosive handling equipment focused on servicing the mining industry worldwide. Corporate offices and manufacturing facilities are located in Roanoke, Virginia. Product lines include bulk trucks, emulsion and mix plants, explosives storage, control systems, and aftermarket parts. Our service teams are based in the US, Chile, Australia, and South Africa.

We would like to add a member to our Tread team, specifically an experienced electrical technician. The candidates selected for this position will primarily be responsible for bulk truck rebuild projects at Tread.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect and repair equipment as needed
• Construct and maintain low voltage electrical control systems
• Assemble components in shop and then install on class 8 commercial trucks
• Rework, repair, and replace damaged wiring and electrical systems
• Work with other departments to obtain sub-assemblies and assemblies to complete projects
• Use pneumatic, electrical and standard hand tools
• Basic understanding of general arrangement of drawings/layouts
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic diagrams
• Travel to customer sites in the USA as required, performing field rebuilds and equipment upgrades. 10% travel may be required
• Must have a hand’s on approach and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Good customer service practices
• Dedicated to safety and use of proper PPE
• Preference given to diesel mechanics, field service technicians, electrical technicians
