Job Summary: The position is focused on: Managing and directing the Intake and Clinical Services Team. Guiding the development and implementation of TCRC Clinical Service Policies and Procedures to ensure that these are consistent with best clinical practice. Ensuring that TCRC organizational behavior, policies, procedures, allocation of resources and other decisions promote best clinical practice and other duties as assigned.
Primary Functions:
Directly supervises TCRC Intake and Clinical Staff including Intake Coordinators, Physicians, Psychologists and Autism Services Coordinator.
1. Works to ensure that Clinical Services are consistent with best clinical practice and cost effective; including but not limited to the following areas: Autism diagnosis and autism specific interventions, behavioral interventions and other clinical supports, and eligibility. 2. Represents TCRC to providers and community agencies providing generic clinical services to individuals served by TCRC. Participates in community and interagency planning. Participates in the development, negotiation and implementation of MOU’s with community agencies providing generic clinical services to individuals served by TCRC. 3. In collaboration with the Director of Services and Supports and Director of Community Development, works to ensure that individuals served, their families, vendors, health providers, community agencies and Service Coordinators are provided with essential training in clinical topics. 4. In collaboration with Director of Services and Supports and Director of Community Development, guides the development of appropriate vendored community clinical resources and monitoring of those contracts.
5. Represents TCRC at high-level meetings. 6. In collaboration with the Director of Services and Supports, sets policy for clinical exceptions and resolution of disputes between Clinical Staff and Services and Supports Managers. 7. Represents TCRC clinical staff in appeals and administrative fair hearings involving clinical issues. 8. Provides consultation to Board of Directors on clinical issues upon direction of the Executive Director.
Education and Experience: 1. Experience and knowledge of developmental disabilities with specific experience in autism services, the Lanterman Act, regional centers, and appropriate clinical support service delivery systems 2. Is a licensed Physician or is a licensed Psychologist (under the Board of Psychology) with specific expertise in diagnosis and treatment of developmental disabilities 3. Experience in managing clinical service systems preferred.
Other Requirements: Reliable transportation or equivalent means of transportation is required for this position.
Physical Requirements: Adequate manual dexterity and coordination for operation of a computer and other standard office equipment is required for this position. The ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time, the ability to read, write and comprehend large amounts of written material such as reports and regulations, use the telephone, and communicate via electronic mail are all required on a daily basis. The ability to travel to another work-site location is absolutely required on a daily basis. The ability to stand, sit or walk for moderate distances on uneven terrain is also required on a daily basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or control and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, kneel, stoop, bend, and squat. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and infrequently up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Each of these physical tasks is an essential function of the position.
