Position Summary
Responsible for managing the Work Order Technicians (WOT) in all locations with all aspects of work functions, as well as performing office and administrative duties. Complete work in Ivue (NISC), while delegating responsibilities associated with cost estimates, work orders, pool permits, line patrol, easements, email inquiries, and telephone support to member-owners, as necessary.
Essential Job Functions
- A full range of supervisory activities such as training, evaluating, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.
- Manage the Work Order Technician Department with processes, team assistance, and escalated member-owner assistance.
- Communicate with member-owners concerning specifications and project status.
- Act as liaison between the WOTs and various other cooperative departments.
- Ensure WOT are on task and updated regarding all policies and procedures.
- Manage WOTs, and their projects, to ensure that all applications, easements, project costs, permits, and data entry is completed prior to construction in a timely manner and in alignment with cooperative policies and tariffs.
- Review contractor invoicing to ensure that billing units are correct and agree with the work done, along with properly accounting for the invoices.
- Responsible for assisting the easement department with organizing and tracking easements for work orders and other items, as needed to assist Members.
- Evaluate the performance of direct reports and keep management informed of issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare various monthly and annual board reports.
- Maintain and ensure pole contracts are kept up-to-date and work with assigned contractors and accounting to ensure the process is seamless.
- Perform all other functions and requirements of the position as deemed necessary by the Director or CSO.
Position Requirements
- Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
- Directly related experience may substitute for education
- Experience:
- Five years of supervisory experience
- Utility experience preferred
- Job Training:
- On-going training in customer service and computer skills
- Leadership Skills
- Ability to motivate, cultivate, and ensure a seamless team environment with discipline and accountability
- Communication Skills
- Handling Member inquiries in-person and on the telephone regarding existing and new accounts. Develop letters and emails regarding information for new construction.
- Coordinating Skills
- Manage the scheduling of appointments for staking technicians. Maintain paperwork for work orders and Member information. Time management skills are a must in order to accomplish all the required daily tasks.
- Computer Skills
- Creating and updating member information, creating letters to members, Using Excel for monthly reports and cost analyst and adjustment to accounts.
- Analytical Skills
- Calculate cost estimates for jobs using information for staking sheets.
