JOB TITLE: Maintenance Specialist
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
SUPERVISES: None
EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide general maintenance and repair for all credit union facilities both interior and exterior.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assess, diagnose, maintain, and repair credit union facilities and grounds in accordance with safety standards and appearance expectations.
- Perform quality control analysis on equipment and systems. Recommend and procure supplies and equipment and document expenditures.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and facilities as needed.
- Maintain valid driver’s license and maintain the company vehicles for efficiency and safety.
- Prepare estimates and sketches/plans for proposed maintenance projects.
- Abide by state and federal banking regulations. Attend training sessions and complete compliance training on an annual basis. Follow credit union Member Privacy Policy and member identification procedures.
OTHER DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage time effectively to ensure all duties are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in the movement of furniture, equipment, and fixtures as requested.
- Act as credit union liaison to maintenance-related vendors.
- Engage in behavior that aligns with the credit union’s cultural beliefs.
- Gain and retain a high-level knowledge of all TFCU products, policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional businesslike appearance in accordance with TFCU’s dress code policy.
- Adhere to TFCU’s attendance and punctuality policy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience: Two years of maintenance experience preferred.
Qualifications:
- Maintain a working knowledge of basic facilities and grounds maintenance, including common hand and power tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain a working knowledge of grounds/landscaping maintenance principles, workplace safety procedures, practices, methods, and use of materials and equipment.
- General understanding of OSHA and interpreting Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ability to interpret standards applicable to craft, trade, specialty or area of work situations.
- Basic level of skill in Excel, Word and Outlook. Demonstrate ability to use available technology to access automated recordkeeping tools, access email, maintain logs and update tickets.
- Ability to make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to demonstrate effective customer service practices.
- Ability to speak using proper grammar and to effectively communicate and convey technical subjects in simple language.

In addition to the Level 1 and 2 Qualification requirements: · Create service tickets for necessary repairs and delegate to appropriate personnel or vendor. · Ability to train facility department co-workers on repairs and preventive maintenance. · Independently trouble-shoot equipment and identify building issues and make necessary repairs. · Collaborate with vendors to obtain quotes and survey buildings and grounds and effectively communicate necessary information with supervisors. |
Availability: Monday through Friday with the ability to work holidays and/or off-hours, on-call when required. Regularly works offsite and will need to maintain contact via phone, email or other electronic channels.

- While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Bending and climbing ladders is required to complete maintenance duties. Additionally, this position is required to work in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
- Use of Hands/Fingers: To operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office machinery as well as common hand tools and equipment.
- Speech/Hearing: This position frequently communicates via phone and in person. Must be able to talk to/hear or otherwise communicate.
