Participant Experience Specialist – Tucson JCC Disability Program Services
PT/FT: Full-time
Hours: 8am-4pm M-F

DESCRIPTION:
Are you passionate about helping others maximize their potential? Join the Tucson J as the Participant Experience Specialist for our Taglit, Arts for All, and Summer Camp programs and become part of a vibrant team serving a diverse community of youth and adults with disabilities.
We emphasize wellness, team building, skill development, and social interaction, and we love to explore our community in new and exciting ways!
The J’s Taglit day program provides a small supportive group of adults with disabilities full-day vocational and enrichment programs. These programs are designed to explore, cultivate, and maximize each individual’s potential.
The J's Arts for All day program aims to help adults with disabilities build confidence, gain meaningful relationships, and develop performing and visual arts skills. We offer daily classes in dance, drama, music, exercise, ceramics, painting, and sketching
The J's DPS Summer Camp program provides a summer day camp experience for middle and high school aged youth with developmental disabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participant Care (yearly duties)
- Create and lead day program staff trainings/inservices
- Conduct individual participant care training for small and large groups of staff
- Observe day program direct care and provide “on the job” training
- Provide Program Managers and Directors with updated research and training related to direct care for adults w/ developmental disabilities
- Conduct parent communication related to participant care training
Summer Camp (10-week summer program)
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train summer camp staff
- Conduct camper intake and registration
- Lead weekly staff trainings
- Supervise Gesher and Summer Tag unit heads
- Coordinate programming with DPS Program Specialist
- Pre-camp and summer camp parent communication
- Communicate with campers’ DDD Support Coordinators to release attendance hours and provide incident reports
Vocational Program (spring and fall sessions)
- Coordinate vocational internships communication and coordination w/ participating JCC departments
- Teach vocational curriculum to group of four DPS participants
- Coordinate and train additional vocational program staff member(s)
- Data collection, tracking, reporting, and billing

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in education or human services
- 3 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities, including program management
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be 18 years of age
- Driver’s License Required
- Class one fingerprint certification (can be obtained after hire)
- First Aid & CPR certification (can be obtained after hire)
- Article 9 training (can be obtained after hire)
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Pay Rate: $40,000 - $45,000
