Summary
Tulane University Center for Sport’s Lead Case Manager. NFL PCF will work within a comprehensive interdisciplinary medical team to assess patient care needs. The position will provide specialized services to support former NFL players nationally with medical, mental health, employment, grants, and other needed services with this special population. This position will also be responsible for efforts clinical and research in the NFL Player Care Foundation (PCF) that is partnered with Tulane University School of Medicine to conduct its Healthy Body and Mind Screening program. This national screening program is open to all former NFL players and includes a series of private and confidential cardiovascular and prostate screenings and mental health resources and education. Responsibilities may include: clinical and coordination of services management, patient assessment, treatment planning and coordination, multidisciplinary staffing, case management and ongoing program monitoring and development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Clinical knowledge and treatment skills, clinical writing skills, and routing management skills
- Ability to work effectively in an academic environment and to advocate for excellence in patient services, whether on site or in other areas of the country
- Possess relationship‐building skills across a diverse range of cultural settings.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. This includes: acute, chronic, and traumatic illness/injuries; common medications and their effects/side effects; medical terminology. Knowledge and use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the APA (DSM-5) is required.
- Knowledge of community resources, how to make appropriate referrals to community and other agencies for services, and ability to coordinate services.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling from an accredited program
- Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor or Certified Rehab Counselor in Louisiana (or the ability to obtain before start date)
- Five years of experience with direct patient care, case management and psychosocial issues of adults
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- Experience working with collegiate or professional athletes, active duty military and/or veterans.
- Experience in mental health rehabilitation and complex medical and neurological conditions.
