Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in commercial building construction, repair, and maintenance, including 1 year as a trades craftsman in carpentry, electrical, or plumbing.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, facility operations, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in the use of trade tools and equipment.
- Preferred: Completion of a technical school program in industrial maintenance or similar, and a current license in a major trade (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Supervisory experience (2 years preferred).
Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Facilities Coordinator will oversee various maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting at assigned facilities. This role requires advanced skill in one trade and general knowledge in others. The Facilities Coordinator will lead renovation projects, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and provide input on maintenance policies. They will also coordinate property management and transportation systems, manage vendors, and oversee assigned staff performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance & Repair:
- Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities.
- Prioritize and respond to work requests and emergency repairs promptly.
- Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance services and inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance.
- Oversee facility repair and renovation projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Team Supervision & Staff Development:
- Lead and supervise maintenance teams, ensuring safety guidelines are followed.
- Provide guidance on maintenance techniques and materials to the team.
- Interview, hire, and conduct performance evaluations for staff.
- Foster a positive team environment focused on achieving performance goals.
- Lead training regarding facilities and vehicle maintenance in coordination with training coordinator
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the maintenance department's budget.
- Obtain competitive quotes for capital improvements and major repairs.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and resources.
- Property Management:
- Maintain accurate inventories of property and equipment at assigned facilities.
- Conduct annual physical inventories and ensure proper labeling of equipment.
- Vehicle Maintenance Program:
- Administer routine vehicle inspection and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with transportation policies.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance work complies with COA, OSHA, ORCC, local building codes, fire codes, and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments by attending relevant trainings, seminars, and conferences.
- Ensure annual compliance with all fire safety requirements; Drills, extinguisher inspections, and state/local Fire Marshall’s visits.
