About The Role

This position requires someone passionate about delivering high-quality animation aligned with the project's vision while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for the team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of animation graduates, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks, including storyboarding, character design, layout, animation, and compositing
- Direct the team to meet client requirements and maintain consistency with the established visual style
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to animators, ensuring quality standards are met
- Manage resources and timelines effectively to meet project deadlines without compromising quality
- Review and refine animation scenes, offering adjustments or draw-overs as needed
- Collaborate with producers and stakeholders to track progress and address challenges proactively
- Troubleshoot technical and animation issues, providing creative solutions
- Mentor junior animators, fostering growth and skill development within the team
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Animation Supervisor, Director, or Lead Animator in 2D animation
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in 2D animation techniques and storytelling
- Deep understanding of animation principles and production workflows
- Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Adobe After Effects, and related software
- Proven experience managing animation teams and providing constructive feedback
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage time effectively under tight deadlines
- Positive attitude and problem-solving abilities with a passion for creative collaboration
- Experience working with creatives on the autism spectrum
- Teaching experience in post-secondary animation programs
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and additional animation software
