Job Summary :

Paramount Animation is seeking a Technical Director to provide technical support, develop tools and workflows, and troubleshoot issues across production teams for animated films. The TD will collaborate with artists, vendors, and other team members in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Communicate with artists to identify and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders to develop robust software solutions.
  • Provide ShotGrid support and enhance workflows for production teams.
  • Create integrations for third-party and proprietary tools.
  • Write and maintain documentation and training materials for workflows and tools.
  • Work closely with vendors contributing to film production.
  • Apply analytics to streamline studio operations.
  • Mentor interns and contractors as needed.
  • Assist with implementing USD best practices and workflows.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 2 years of experience developing ShotGrid-based tools / workflows in a production environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, ShotGrid, Maya, and pipeline tools
  • Proficiency in Linux, Windows, and MacOS platforms
  • Strong understanding of pre-production workflows (e.g., Editorial, Story, Design)
  • Experience developing user interfaces using PySide / Qt
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills
  • Additional Qualifications :

  • Experience in animation, visual effects, or the game industry
  • Familiarity with industry tools like Nuke, Houdini, and Unreal Engine
  • Interest in machine learning and virtual production tools
  • Experience with C , MEL, and Qt interface design

    Compensation :
