Position Summary: The Director of Student Success is responsible for overseeing the student services departments, focusing on improving student support and outcomes. This includes managing the Lead Admissions Representative, Lead Financial Aid Officer, Lead Career Services Coordinator, and Lead Registrar. The Director of Student Success will work closely with students to address challenges impacting their academic progress, such as food insecurity, childcare needs, transportation, and other barriers to success. This position requires leadership, empathy, and a student-centered approach to ensure a supportive learning environment.
Job Description:
1. Leadership and Oversight
· Oversee and manage the Lead Admissions Representative, Lead Financial Aid Officer, Lead Career Services Coordinator, and Lead Registrar.
· Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure alignment with institutional goals and continuous improvement of student services.
· Facilitate collaboration between student services teams to optimize processes and enhance the student experience.
2. Student Support and Advocacy
· Serve as the primary point of contact for students facing challenges that may interfere with their academic success, including food insecurity, lack of childcare, and transportation issues.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive resource network, connecting students with relevant services (e.g., community organizations, internal support, financial aid, etc.).
· Collaborate with campus staff and local organizations to create solutions that address students' personal and academic needs.
3. Student Retention and Outcomes
· Work alongside the Director of Education to implement strategies and initiatives to improve student retention, completion rates, and overall academic success.
· Conduct assessments to identify at-risk students and create individualized support plans to mitigate barriers to academic progress.
· Track and analyze student success metrics, providing regular reports and updates to the Campus Director on student outcomes.
4. Resource Development and Community Engagement
· Build relationships with external organizations to develop partnerships for student support services such as childcare, housing assistance, transportation, and other critical needs.
· Facilitate workshops and programs to educate students on available resources and services, empowering them to take proactive steps toward their academic success.
· Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate student support services into the campus environment, ensuring students receive holistic support.
5. Program Development and Improvement
· Continuously assess and improve student services operations to align with institutional goals and student needs.
· Implement best practices in student success and retention strategies, staying up to date with trends and research in higher education.
· Develop and deliver training to Lead Representatives and Coordinators to enhance their ability to support students effectively.
6. Communication and Collaboration
· Maintain open lines of communication with students, faculty, and staff to ensure concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
· Work closely with other departments to ensure that student services are integrated into the larger academic framework and that all staff members understand the available resources.
7. Accreditation and Compliance
· Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements related to student services and support programs.
· Collaborate with other campus leaders to uphold institutional policies and maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct.
8. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution:
· Proactively address challenges related to student financing and departmental workflow.
· Implement creative solutions to improve efficiency and enhance the overall student experience.
9. Ethics and Integrity:
· Maintain the highest level of ethics, ensuring all departmental activities comply with institutional policies and regulatory standards.
· Ensure that students receive timely and accurate information about programs, outcomes, and credentialing requirements.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Counseling or a related field preferred (relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in academic administration, preferably in a vocational or technical education setting.
· Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to oversee faculty and academic programs
· In-depth knowledge of accreditation standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in education.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Demonstrated ability to practice active listening, ensuring clear understanding and effective communication with students, families, and colleagues.

Pay: $73,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
