Overview
Responsible for maintaining financial integrity of assigned accounting processes including the financial close process, journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, internal and external audit support. The Accounting manager will interact and work corporate and field accounting personnel as well as internal and external auditors.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze financial data and prepare monthly financial statement reports. Perform additional analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statements.
- Coordinate preparation of monthly financial package and review for accuracy.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze financial records, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for site operations and for other assigned areas.
- Prepare account reconciliations and analyze cost variances.
- Prepare cash reconciliations and make necessary adjustments.
- Prepare lease accounting journal entries obtained from the Lease Query software and coordinate with the regional locations to obtain and enter new leases, modifications, and cancellations/terminations of any existing lease, as needed.
- Book monthly expense accruals, allocations and reclasses, as needed.
- Create regular and special accounting reports as directed by site management and corporate accounting.
- Provide financial data to site management.
- Provide advice and technical assistance to regional controllers and site management with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.
- Analyze financial records and submit adjustments to financial records to maintain accuracy and conformance to Company procedures and regulations.
- Examine a variety of financial statements and documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with accounting requirements. May prepare projections of accounting data to show effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition.
- Ensure that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations.
- Interpret financial directives from accounting management and establish procedures for carrying out directives.
- Provide internal and external auditing support. May audit the inventory of parts and equipment at
- various locations to verify that inventory counts are representative of the inventory on hand.
- May participate in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports.
- Assist with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
- Identify standard accounting problems, research solutions, and resolve problems.

BS/BA in Accounting or Finance preferred.
