Actively participates in all finance / accounting cycles for the organization to ensure that accounting processes are timely, accurate, efficient, and consistent. This position may also participate in the payroll function. This successful accountant will have a deep knowledge of accounting, with a strong emphasis on fund accounting, and the willingness to roll up their sleeves to ensure local success. Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts. Also responsible for organizing and processing accounts payable, cash receipts, and performing other bookkeeping functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILILTIES :
- Monitor bank accounts and prepare daily cash sheet for review
- Enter invoices into Aplos Accounting System and maintain schedule of due dates in order to process in a timely manner
- Payroll and pay functions in the HRIS, Paylocity, as needed
- Provide checks and prepare for signature and mailing
- Maintain vendor files in both the Logos Accounting System and hard copy folders
- Cash receipts : verify balances, prepare deposit, and enter cash & credit card deposits into Aplos Accounting System
- Assist with compiling monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain and process payroll, payroll tax filings, and employee benefit payments
- Generate A / R invoices verifying revenue and costs are properly recognized
- Will make necessary bank deposits for the Clinic and incoming grant payments
- Reconcile Travel & Entertainment expense reports
- Reconcile Raiser’s Edge donor receipts against general ledger accounts
- Monitor collection duties to ensure all A / R accounts are current
- Prepare month-end entries in a timely manner including in-kind, bank adjustments, and benefit allocations
- Work with outside auditors to provide client prepared work papers and documentation
- Follows all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and regulations, including assisting HIPAA and OSHA Officers in ensuring compliance
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information / records at all times
- Maintains established San José Clinic policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
- Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the San José Clinic Mission and Code of Conduct and is supportive of San José Clinic cultural diversity objectives
- Performs other duties as assigned and manages all aspects of Payroll, Accounts Payable, and invoice reconciliation
