What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Practice Provider - Fairmont location position at United Hospital District?
United Hospital District (UHD), is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at our Fairmont location - to provide a patient-centered, full scope of care to the patients and communities we serve. UHD, located in Blue Earth MN, is a system of care comprised of a 25-bed acute care hospital, comprehensive outpatient services, ambulance service, home health/hospice all supported by a 20 plus multi-specialty provider group with 3 clinic locations across two counties.
Our Advanced Practice Providers focus on:
- Our Patients: by providing comprehensive, professional, and quality care to both well and ill patients.
- Educating patients and/or their families: to promote wellness, prevent illness, maintain current health and treat acute or chronic illness.
- Quality care: providing care options that are integrated with care standards of the organization and industry.
- Culture: Works and supports a collegial team environment under the general supervision of the CMO and with the medical staff in a cooperative manner to ensure an effective and efficient work environment,
- Community: understands the needs of under-served rural populations and becomes familiar with the resources in the community.
Requirements:
- Must be Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner and have current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP or ANP or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of medical theory and practice, physical assessment, differential, diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic health.
- Must have effective communication skills, understands the needs of rural and under-served populations, demonstrate effective interpersonal skills necessary for providing patient/family instruction and collaboration with colleagues.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
